Rising 6th Graders
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We would like to welcome you and your child to Trickum Middle School, the greatest middle school in the nation. The next three years will be a new and exciting time in your child’s life.
These middle school years have been referred to as the transition years due to the many changes students go through in their development from children to adolescents. During this time, students undergo many emotional, intellectual, physical, and social changes. Our middle school strives to provide a warm, yet academic environment that will foster stability and guide students through the developmental process. Our faculty and staff work hard daily to ensure learning for all our students.
It is very important that you continue to be involved in your child’s school life. Many times middle school students indicate that they want you uninvolved; however, we believe that your involvement is crucial to their success. Together we can make the next three years the best ever.
The enclosed packet contains information regarding the events we feel will be helpful to you as the parent of a rising middle school student. It is our goal to assist parents in better understanding this period of transition and growth. There will be multiple opportunities to learn about the transition process as well as ask questions to learn more about Trickum.
Additionally, we have a section of our Trickum MS website dedicated to 5th Grade Articulation where you and your child can take a virtual tour of the greatest middle school in the nation. Additionally, you can learn about the day in the life of a 6th grader and listen to interviews/reflections of our students. This is a great opportunity for you and your child to virtually explore Trickum prior to the in-person meetings.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of our school or simply have questions, we are here to help. Please feel free to call the school at 770-921-2705 with any questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
Ryan Queen - Principal
Evan Korth - Assistant Principal
Wendy McDonald - Assistant Principal
Jordyn Butts - School Counselor
