Principal's Message

Dear Trickum Middle School Family,
Welcome to the Trickum Middle School website and to our school, a place that we, the more than 2,000 students and more than 200 staff members who walk through our doors every day call home. Although I began my tenure as Principal in June of 2025, my career is rooted in the Parkview community, having served as both a teacher and an assistant principal at Trickum for 15 years earlier in my career. For me also, Trickum Middle School is home. Since its opening in 1975, Trickum has always been a community school, led by respectful, honorable, and responsible students; committed families who give of themselves for the benefit of all; caring teachers who have opted to teach at this level because they love this age group of students; dedicated staff members who support our teachers in all that they do; and dynamic leaders who believe in the great success that we can achieve when we work together.
Trickum Middle School has a long-standing history of academic excellence as well as a tradition of engaging students in their areas of interest, sparking passion and developing talents that will serve our students well in their future. At Trickum, our mission is to “Ensure learning for all.” Although brief, the statement itself is so powerful. As educators, this is our commitment to you, our community, not simply to expose students or to provide opportunities for learning but rather to ensure learning. In this, we are committing ourselves to going the extra mile for each and every student. Our vision statement speaks to many facets of our school. With words and phrases such as community, rigorous and engaging instruction, meaningful relationships, critical thinking, global citizenship, and challenge and support students, you can be certain that our hearts and minds are consistently in the right place.
So too, there are 5 Collective Commitments that we have embraced. I would like to highlight one for you: We will cultivate meaningful relationships between students, teachers, leaders, parents, and stakeholders. Underlying this commitment is the common belief that we as educators cannot do it alone. Instead we rely on you, our community, to partner with us to accomplish the lofty goal of achieving our mission and realizing our vision. Let this be the first of many invitations to join us, to show up for your children even if they tell you you don’t have to or that they don’t want you to. We as adults know better. Show up for them and invest in your neighborhood school. Communicate through all that you do that you are willing to partner with us to ensure continuous improvement.
I’m looking forward to meeting you in person and continuing this journey together.
Mitch Green
Principal
